Where I Wander: be it where I Wake (my yard), Walk, Wagon (where I drive), Wyoming (my favorite place) and the rest of the World. This is a culmination and intersection of two joys—the first is a love of photography. It started in high school after receiving my first camera, a Pentax K1000, which sparked an interest in sports photography. That joy took a hiatus once medical school started and continued through residency training, building my practice and partnering with my wife in building our family. Photography came back into the picture once the kids became active in sports. In 2010, at the urging of my wife Patrice, we took a trip to Jackson WY and visited Grand Teton National Park. As if a bolt of lightning hit me wildlife photography became a passion. The second joy was the time I spent walking our 2 dogs—Rhodesian Ridgebacks Tsavo and Dublin. Tsavo, who is no longer with us, really enjoyed his walks and kept us moving everyday. Around 2010, Dublin was old enough to join Tsavo on long trips throughout the neighborhood and forest preserves. For some reason, one day I ditched the earbuds and phone, and became more in-tune with my surroundings both in sight and sound. The natural world of squirrels, hawks, owl, deer and herons connected. And this is how I got here—a love of photography, the joy of spending time with my 2 buddies, and a smart wife taking me on a vacation that would change my life.
